Combining Wearables

In order to maximize the appeal of a full outfit, the avatars use an internal logic that controls how different wearables coexist at the same time. This reduces the amount of clipping and intersection between wearables, and improves the overall look of your avatar.

Equipable Areas

Genies Avatar has four equipable areas: head, upper body, lower body and feet. Lets take a look at what wearable asset types can be equipped per each area.

Head

Hats, glasses, earrings and masks wearables can be equipped to the head area.

Hats, glasses and earrings can be combined together. Masks will replace any other asset in this area.

Upper Body

Shirts, hoodies and jackets can be equipped in the upper body area. You can have the following combinations: a shirt OR a shirt with the jacket (open) OR a jacket (closed) or a hoodie.

Lower Body

Pants OR shorts OR skirts can be equipped to the lower body.

None of those bottom assets can be worn together.

Feet

Shoes are the only asset type that can be equipped to the feet area.

Exception

Dresses are the only asset type that is being equipped on the upper body + lower body areas.

That means that dresses will replace any other assets in those areas like shirts/ hoodies /jackets and pants/ shorts/ skirts.

Layering System

Some equipable areas allow multiple assets to be added at the same time. To ensure the most compatibility of assets, we created the Layering Guides to serve as visual aid when authoring wearables.

DRESS	It can only be quipped as it is. Nothing can be layered on top. Replaces equipped shirts, hoodies, jackets, pants, shorts and skirts.	Should be fully fitted OVER LT1 (pink) guide.
SHIRT	Long shirt that goes over the pants, skirts and shorts. No jacket on top.	Should be fully fitted over LT1 (pink) guide and LB1 (green) guide.
	Long shirt that goes over the pants, skirts and shorts. Can have a jacket on layered on top of it.	Should be fully fitted OVER LT1 (pink) guide and OVER LB1 (green) guide. It should fully fit UNDER LT2 (blue) guide to fit under the jacket type assets.
	Cropped shirt that ends higher than the waist line of a Genie.	Should be fully fitted OVER LT1 (pink) guide. Should end above the waist line of the mannequin.
	Cropped shirt that ends higher than the waist line of a Genie. Can have a jacket on layered on top of it.	Should be fully fitted OVER LT1 (pink) guide. Should end above the waist line of the mannequin. It should fully fit UNDER LT2 (blue) guide to fit under the jacket type assets.
HOODIE	Cropped hoodie that ends higher than Genies’ waist line. No shirts under it. No jackets on top of it.	Should be fully fitted OVER LT1 (pink) guide. Should end above the waist line of the mannequin.
	Long Hoodie that goes over the pants. No shirts under it. No jackets on top of it.	Should be fully fitted OVER LT1 (pink) guide and LB1 (green) guide.
JACKET	Open jacket that allows to add a shirt under it (long or cropped - does not matter).	Should be fully fitted OVER LT2 (blue) guide.
	Long closed jacket that does not allow the shirt under it.	Should be fully fitted OVER LT1 (pink) guide and LB1 (green) guide.
	Cropped closed jacket that does not allow the shirt under it.	Should be fully fitted OVER LT1 (pink) guide. Should end above the waist line of the mannequin.
PANTS, SKIRTS, SHORTS	Pants, skirts, shorts that can be layered with long shirts and jackets	Should be fully fitted OVER LT1 (pink) guide. Should be fully fitted UNDER LB1 (green) guide.
	Pants, skirts, shorts that can be layered with only cropped top assets (shirts, hoodies, jackets)	Should be fully fitted OVER LT1 (pink) guide.
HATS	Hats that can have hair assets added with them	Should be fitted right on the brim part of the HAT (yellow) guide hugging the main part of the guide. No part of the model can be located under the brim line. There should be no holes in the top part of the hat.
	Hats that will have the hair asset replaced with the buzz cut	Should be fitted to the mannequin. The buzz cut asset is skin tight so it will fit right under your hat.
